Merry Xmas!

Bob Geldof and Midge Ure came together to write this song to create awareness about poverty in underdeveloped countries, in this case specifically famine in Ethiopia, and almost a quarter century later it is still grabbing our attention. Featuring the top musical stars and talents of the time the song features such luminaries as Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Paul Young, Culture Club (without Boy George, initially), George Michael of Wham!, Kool and the Gang, Sting, Bono and Adam Clayton of U2, Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17 (whom Ure personally ordered down) and his bandmate Martyn Ware, Phil Collins, Paul Weller of the Style Council, Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt of Status Quo, Jody Watley of Shalamar, and Bananarama.

In later years Geldof went on to create Live Aid, a huge charity event that took place at Wembley Stadium that featured 16 hours of rock.

Presently, this YouTube clip of the original video of the song has 5,148,041 views and is one of the most viral videos of the holiday season. We hope you enjoy and wish you safe and happy holidays.
